Position: Member of R&D Staff

Location: DPR, NC

Delta Power Electronics Lab (DPEL), located in Research Triangle Park, NC, has an opening for an R&D engineer with experience in application of digital technology (control/power management) in power conversion circuits.

Generally, the major duties at this position include the analysis, modeling, simulation, design and development of advanced power conversion circuits for computer, telecommunication, motor drive, lighting, automotive, and industrial applications. Specifically, the engineer filling this position would be mostly involved in the development and implementation of digital control and power management for the next generation of single- and poly-phase high-frequency, switch-mode off-line converters, inverters, and dc/dc converters with high efficiency, high power-density, and high reliability.

Prospective candidates must possess in-depth knowledge in the field of analog and digital electronics, control, semiconductors, magnetics, simulations, and packaging. A Ph. D. degree or an M.S. degree in power electronics is required. Preference will be given to candidates with strong background and hands-on experience in using DSPs and microcontrollers, and have a proven record of contributing new ideas and concepts in the power conversion area. Finally, they need to possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.

DPEL is the advanced R&D group of Delta Products Corporation (DPR), the U.S. subsidiary of Delta Electronics, Inc., - one of the world’s largest manufacturers of power conversion and management equipment.
