Position: Member of R&D Staff
Location: DPR, NC Delta Power Electronics Lab (DPEL), located in Research Triangle Park, NC, has an opening for an R&D engineer with experience in application of digital technology (control/power management) in power conversion circuits. Generally, the major duties of this position include the analysis, modeling, simulation, design and development of advanced power conversion circuits for computer, telecommunication, motor drive, lighting, automotive, and industrial applications. Specifically, the engineer filling this position would be mostly involved in the development and implementation of digital control and power management for the next generation of single- and poly-phase high-frequency, switch-mode off-line converters, inverters, and dc/dc converters with high efficiency, high power-density, and high reliability. Prospective candidates must possess practical, hands-on design experience using embedded systems and both C and Assembly programming languages, with a good understanding of DSP technology, both algorithms and hardware platforms. Specifically, experience using Texas Instruments C2000 family of devices and/or Microchip?s dcPIC family of devices is preferred. Matlab/Simulink experience is also beneficial. Finally, the candidate needs to possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
