Position 1: Member of R&D Staff
Location: DPR, NC Delta Power Electronics Lab (DPEL), located in Research Triangle Park, NC, has an opening for an R&D engineer in the area of power conversion circuits for lighting applications. The major duties at this position include, but are not limited to, the analysis, modeling, simulation, design and development of advanced power conversion and control circuits for lighting applications such as electronic ballasts and LED drivers. Prospective candidates must possess excellent knowledge of power electronics and proven hands-on design experience of high-frequency dc/dc, ac/dc, and dc/ac converter circuits. Strong analytical skills, familiarity with simulation tools (Spice, SIMPLIS, Matlab/Simulink, etc), and experience in implementing digital technology (software and hardware) in the control, protection, and monitoring of power converter circuits are required. The candidate needs to possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. This position requires at least the M.S. E.E. degree with the concentration in power electronics.
